Step three was , to me .the turnaround step. I could have turned backwards into old habits or kept moving slowly forward by constantly noting how far I had come. I was like a snail.
It helped me to make lists of any positive changes I saw along the way. I had wanted magnificent changes - really big ones, but the small steady changes added up nicely. I set myself small challenges like more water, eating at the table, chewing slowly.
