Joy dot: the first toad of the season showing up in our yard on Sunday.

Have you thought about finding some interesting volunteer work for the summer vacation? That might put some structure into your day and keep you active. You could volunteer part time so you still had some relaxation time, but then the transition from work to vacation to work wouldn't be so abrupt. I know where I live, there are all sorts of interesting volunteer opportunities that I would pursue if I weren't working.

I don't find what I do for a living that rewarding, and I do volunteer activities in my free time which are more in line with what is meaningful to me.

: Yes, Colette, you've hit it on the
: nail.
: I do enjoy being active, but I have a
: very hard time initiating that
: activity.
: This last stint in April was
: initiated by my hubby, who said,
: hey let's invite these guys and
: those folks for the holiday (when
: I had been thinking we'd be guests
: at someone else's home).

: In the summer, I get bored and don't
: do what it takes to create
: activities and fields of interest
: for myself. I have a tendency to
: get into a slump and do the
: same-same every day, basically
: waiting for the hectic school year
: to start again.

: What a crying shame and waste!!
: There are people who would kill to
: have a long vacation like mine.

: I'm eleven months into the program,
: and it's definitely time to feel
: radiant enough
: to rev up my butt and plan how I will
: spend my upcoming freedom
: in a way that's advantageous to me.

: Thanks for putting into words what I
: know deep down inside - I need a
: creative and social
: outlet........a bit of Step 7,
: lol.
: Not my strong point at all.

: And now for a bit of mulling over
: some options.....
