Re: 12-Step Groups

Dear Dr. D.,

Thank you so much for saying Abstinence is Not Recovery! I have never really heard that before & the OA people make us feel like such slackers.

Thank God food is not the enemy- only refined sugar which I have heard has a chemical composition much like heroin or cocaine- something like that. But it makes total sense. And who is addicted to broccoli and hamburger? no one-lol! thx. again. E.

: Fortunately :h2) Food is not an
: enemy.

: Really, so you think

: I know that cold turkey is not the
: way!

: Well, if you go cold turkey, you put
: your brain in shock. And, yes, if
: your brain is in shock,
: than having a little wil make you
: want more. However if you heal
: your brain first, then you don't
: have cravings, and you and not
: vulnerable like that. And it is
: really too bad that OA doesn't
: know the science of this.

: and I'm

: Right now, you don't even need to
: think of that.

: Our idea is to simply start with
: breakfast and learn how to do
: that.

: :h11) No. Because we don't do meal
: plans. We just do step one - that
: would be breafast.
: You can join the step one list and
: they can teach you about how to do
: that step.

: not sure if we are able to

: It is a different process. Do you
: have a copy of Potatoes Not
: Prozac. It would help to learn how
: it is different from OA.

: Warmly,

: kathleen
