Re: 12-Step Groups
In Response To: 12-Step Groups ()

I have been in and out of OA for over 30 years and could never get 30 days of back to back abstinence. I have to agree with Kathleen, that abstinence is not recovery. It is not like alcohol. I have to decide every day what I am going to eat. I am on step 3 now of RR. I still have a long way to go, but I feel better about myself AND food plan than I have did previously. Yes, I have my daily sugar fix, but I can feel my body healing and my mind gaining a discipline for the first time in my life.
