Hello Alice and welcome! Can you share a few more details of where you are at in the program and how long you have been doing it? Many sensitivities (allergies and otherwise) tend to gradually go away as you get further along in the steps. Are you working the steps as outlined or wanting to give up sugar all at once? The best results happen when we follow the program as it is written, not deviating and doing it "our" way. As one who has done that a time or two in the beginning, I speak from experience.....
I have a few theories on why you break out when you start to eat better. I've studied nutrition over the years and so here is one thought. When we eat less than favorable (or poorly) our body tends to store toxins. We can go a long time with feeling like nothing is wrong but what I find is that when we start eating more healthy, those toxins are wanting to be released from our body and the skin is often the first place it happens. I've heard it referred to as a "healing crisis". It really made sense to me when I read an article about it a year or so ago.
As you continue to progress through the steps, it should ease up and eventually dissipate. Many people tend to give up and think that eating right means they don't feel any differently when in fact, it proves the opposite over time.
Hope that gives you a little different perspective. Let us know how we can assist you with your program.
Warm regards,
Terri F
