Re: xylitol
In Response To: xylitol ()

Hi Louise,

Just wondering where you are in the steps? It can be hard to know what is contributing to cravings if you are not very far along in the steps. Anything sweet will activate beta endorphin, so since xylitol is *sweet* it sure can contribute to cravings.

I remember hearing a story about someone enjoying jelly beans that were sweetened with xylitol...this person ate so many that it caused diarrhea...which can be a side affect of too much xylitol. It was hard to stop...just like with sugar. But this doesn't sound like your experience with it.

Interesting about using it for teeth and gums...off to google Dr. Ellie Phillips.
