Thank you everyone for your replies :)

RamblingRose - I agree, I think I do need to add in snacks. I am mainly just eating breakfast, lunch and dinner due to my schedule. But I am really starting to notice that if I wait too long to eat I am done for. I am making a huge effort to eat within an hour of waking...so far I have been successful with that and I find that it is my hunger that is waking me up in the morning and that if I don't get up and start getting breakfast I get really nauseous. I could try eating before I get hungry, maybe every two hours would help, but I don't want to end up snacking all day. Before I started this program I ate sporadically through the day and always ended with a large dinner, so that has changed and I am trying to eat at regular times now.

Kathleen - I am happy to post what I am eating. The first thing is that I am sensitive to several foods including gluten, peanuts and milk/yogurt (I seem to do ok with hard cheeses) and that has cut down on some of my food choices. Everything I eat is made at home from scratch using whole foods. I would like to do the shakes but for some reason most of the protein powders I have tried upset my stomach, especially whey and soy.

Breakfast between 6:30-7:00am : 2-3 eggs, normally scrambled with spinach, broccoli or some kind of veggie and a little cheese and a small bowl of plain oatmeal, about 1/2 cup-3/4 cup (this sometimes has a few tablespoons of fruit in it). Sometimes I have left over dinner from the night before.

Lunch between 11:30-12:30: 1/2 - 1 can of salmon or tuna with mayonnaise with whole grain GF crackers and a salad with lots of veggies and pumpkin seeds. OR lentil soup with chicken or beef and veggies. OR leftover dinner from the night before.

Dinner between 5:30-6pm : some kind of pot roast, potatoes and other veggies
or grilled chicken with rice/quinoa and veggies or a salad
or ground beef (chili, burgers, cottage pie etc..) with beans, or sweet potatoes or regular potatoes with skins on and veggies.

I feel like I eat a variety of veggies and beans/grains and I try to get a good balance of each with every meal along with my protein. I feel like I eat a lot (while I would eventually like to lose weight that is not my goal right now, just getting myself balanced is) but I still feel hungry within 1-2 hours. And I have noticed that I am craving more fat like nuts, cheese, and nut/seed butter something with some substance to it.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be great! Thank you so much.
Maggie
