I received a cortisone shot in my knee a couple months ago, despite some misgivings. Since cortisol is a stress hormone, I had a moment where I thought, do I really want to be pumping this into my body? Regardless, I got the shot.
Since the shot, my cycles are out of whack and I think I'm losing more hair then normal. (My husband has even noticed that last one.) I'm *pretty* sure the cortisone shot messed with my hormonal balance, and I'm *guessing* the answer from an SS perspective is to tighten up my food and in doing so it will eventually even out.
I do have a doc appt. set up, by the way, I just can't get in until a month from now. What I suspect might happen when I go to the doc is, ME: I got a cortisone shot a few months ago and I think it messed with my hormones. DOC: One cortisone shot wouldn't do that, it's probably perimenopause.
In prep for the above possible exchange, I wanted to stop by here to check myself. Am I correct to assume that a cortisone shot could mess with a woman's hormonal balance, and that being sugar sensitive, I might be particulary sensitive to those hormonal changes?
I feel fairly confident in my deduction, but I want to make sure I'm not out in unbalanced SS left field. (I'm also trying to avoid spinning myself into a tizzy because of this, given that my hubby and I have been rolling around the idea of another baby.)
Thanks,
Jessie
