Yes, I am adding complex carbs to each meal. What I miss is all the fruit I used to eat. Now I incorporate it with my breakfast and occasionally with supper. I used to have a banana in between breakfast and lunch but have stopped eating a snack then. Do miss it though. I also had an orange around 2:30-3ish to tide me over until supper. Trying not to snack at all but wonder if it is OK in the afternoon since I eat breakfast at 5:30am and lunch at 10:30. Supper by 5pm when I get home from work. It's a long stretch.
