Potatoes at dinnertime?

Hi guys,

I'm still trying to make Step 1 a regular thing, so is it too early to try having the potato at night?

If I had for example a potato as part of my salad or something at night, would that be okay? I mean, not the potato I have before bed...but as part of the meal before.

I am also surprised still that potatoes are okay since every sugarless diet or 'no carbs' diet is like 'potatoes are EVIL!' well maybe not exactly to that extent...but they do seem to have a bad reputation, in the same category with white sugars and all.

Is there a better alternative to potatoes...are sweet potatoes, or taro, or some other veg. better than the typical potatoes?
