I was just telling Mosaic that thinking and analyzing is one way I put off doing something hard. But I seem to accept difficult things better if I understand them.
Guided imagery is an interesting approach. I'm a visual learner and I believe I have created things in my life by picturing them in my mind over and over. I'm not sure if that's guided imagery but somewhere down the line I may try some of the CD's. It's just so good to hear from others who OD on thinking!
Oh well - do the steps, do the food, do the program.
Thanks so much!!

: Hi Gigi- Wow, I can relate! I like to
: know the answers to things and I
: don't like to wait for them. I
: also like to hide at times and I
: know it isn't healthy for me. I
: now know with the help of
: Kathleen, step 1 and the
: depression group that I now post
: to daily that I was really hurting
: myself by not listening to
: Kathleen and others who told me to
: "just do the steps".. It
: was way more interesting and
: dramatic for me to "think
: about things" (BE,
: depression, my PTSD, past
: childhood abuse) instead of just
: doing the steps. I love to over
: think everything!!!!
: I got the Safe Place CD from the
: store and it has really helped me.
: Something about guided imagery
: really works for me. Probably
: because I am being guided by
: someone besides my silly self LOL!
