Hi Copper,
It took me quite some time to feel steady emotionally. Since you are just starting over again, maybe just remind your brain that it will take time to balance? That's what I do these days when I know the way I'm feeling is biochemical...like a day 4.
I was fairly new on step 7, and saw a new practitioner for some health problems I was having. He recommended that I cut back on my browns. I thought I would give it a try, and within 2 weeks, my husband asked...*How long were you going to try this experiment?* I realized I wasn't feeling very good emotionally, and he...and my children...had noticed it too. Maybe low carb works for you, but I find browns really help me to feel steady and satisfied and calm.
Hope you'll give it another try!

: I was all for this program and seeing
: the benefits right away when I
: first started.
: I had read the book PNP and started
: all the steps at once including
: the potato. Because I was very
: used to disciplined eating, this
: did not seem too difficult. I had
: a binge after a few weeks ,
: decided to slow down and have been
: doing step one for over a month. I
: am about to start step 2. I am
: having old feelings creep back in,
: particularly anxiety.
: Because I had already started step 3,
: I am eating fairly well, although
: trying not to focus on that or any
: other step than what I am on, I
: have stopped the potato.
: I am wondering what happened to my
: better, calmer mood. I am (very
: slightly) tempted to go back to my
: low-carb diet, and really want you
: to talk me out of it.
: I feel that I need to just keep going
: but am in a bit of a slump,
: felling doubtful and hoping my
: enthusiasm and better calm
: feelings will come back.
: I just ordered a subscription to both
: the journal and the shake-
: commiting in action if not in
: feelings right now.
: Thank you for listening, any support
: would be welcome
