My next project

Joy dot: seeing butterflies in the woods and hearing the lizards scurrying through the dry leaves (I like reptiles. I guess that makes me weird. And where I grew up, we don't have any lizards, so I really enjoy them here in New Mexico)

I think I posted about blood sugar challenges I had been having due to working out after work. I've solved those, by cooking something to take to work to eat before my workout, and bringing a yam cake to have in the car if necessary. We are also working on having food at home that just needs to be heated up.

I also have been working on my journalling, which had always been the weakest part of my program.

A few months ago, I stopped taking birth control pills to see where I am as far as menopause is concerned. I started having hot flashes (which felt really strange to me, since I have always been cold). The other day on another list, someone was talking about how Kathleen had told her that evening out blood sugar would help with hot flashes, and I realized that I haven't had any since I got my blood sugar issue resolved. Funny thing is, the hot flashes were happening during the time of day that my blood sugar was ok, not in the evening when I was having problems. So it must have been something about the aftermath of the crash that contributes to the hot flashes.

My next project is weekend breakfasts. My husband likes to make omelets, but he likes to read the paper for a while first. I think I will have my toast with some cheese while he's reading the paper, or make a mini shake. I hate to give up the omelet, because he makes really good ones. But I need to eat something a bit sooner.
