I like to make fruit salads and unsweetened whipped cream. Then I can bring shortcake shells for those who want more of a dessert, and I have the fruit salad with or without the whipped cream.
I can't remember if I've baked anything with sugar since I got to step 7. I certainly haven't baked anything like that for me. I came up with a lot of program friendly desserts, some of which were appreciated by sugar eaters as well. I also find that a combination of half oat flour and half brown rice flour has a really nice texture, much lighter than whole wheat flour, so that might be a good way to make things healthier. I remember when I was a child my mother went on a health food kick and started using whole wheat flour in baked goods, and we didn't like them because they were heavy.
I think if someone enjoys baking and it doesn't cause cravings or temptation, it's fine, but since I didn't have anyone but me to bake for, I took that energy that I used to put into baking desserts and used it for making program friendly treats and other things.
