Tom, I've had it that way, and it's good. You can even buy the cedar pieces at cooking or grilling stores. I think we have a package of them in the storage area of our grill.

: salmon. You buy a piece of cedar
: wood (non treated), soak it in
: water for a day, and place it on
: your grill racks, and heat it up.
: Then you simply put your salmon on
: top of the cedar until done, and
: according to the host it is the
: best tasting salmon you'll ever
: eat. I will be trying this at some
: point this summer.
