Joy dot: a new cardigan, and it goes with the necklace I made last week

Buckwheat is actually related to rhubarb, oddly enough.
Someone on another list reminded me about amaranth. It's an ancient grain that cooks up with a texture that makes it a good breakfast cereal. I can't imagine using it as anything else. But it's pretty good with frozen raspberries and cashew butter mixed in. There is also brown rice cereal at health food stores. Home fries or sweet potato home fries are yummy. I've heated up brown rice and mixed in almond butter before and that is good as well.

: Jennifer,

: I think you would be surprised at how
: many people are aware of gluten
: free these days. I don't know of a
: specific resource. If you have
: some favorites, you could ask here
: or on step 1 list, and see if
: anyone else has created or found
: an alternative. The step 5 list
: has some great gluten free
: resources, and you can join that
: list at any time. There is also a
: magazine called *Living Without*,
: that has gluten free ideas.

: I've been enjoying buckwheat cereal
: these days. Even though wheat is
: in the name, it is not a wheat
: variety. Today I added some
: leftover roast, and added some
: Mexican Spice seasoning. Very
: yummy!
