Welcome!
You can start at a lower amount of protein and add gradually. Or another option is to use .4 to measure your amount of protein instead of .5. It would look something like this:
Let’s take 150 lbs as an example.
150 x .4 = 60; 60/3= 20 grams protein per meal
Glad you are thinking of taking it slowly...it is worth it!

: Hi there-
: I'm a newbie, though I've tried
: sporadically "getting off
: sugar" for nearly a year now.
: Am realizing that I really do need
: to go SLOWLY and not try to get
: right to the payoff (better
: energy, less depression, and, for
: me, weight loss).
: My question about protein: for my
: weight, my estimation is that I
: should be eating 35 grams (!) of
: protein at each meal. One concern
: is that it's very hard for me to
: get more than 30, though I can. My
: other concern is that I don't want
: to remain at this weight, so
: should I be eating the amount of
: protein for what I weigh now? Or
: should I eat the amount that would
: correspond to a healthy weight for
: me?
: I'm grateful for any input on this!
