Hi everyone,
Thank you all for such lovely and helpful advice. I have been on so many eating plans in the past and am really hoping that this will be the last one.
I was in OA for years, rebelled and tried an intuitive approach that sent me on many sugar binges. I kept feeling that my body wanted sugar. It never really got sick of it like it was supposed to.
I then read all about the primal, paleo diets and made that my diet. It was easy because I could eat pretty much as much quantity as I wanted. Somehow it felt unbalanced and I was still craving sugar.
I have started adding in the complex carbs (brown things) that I had been avoiding and I do not crave sugar as much and feel more like a human being.
I have a lot to learn but my mood is better and I do feel hopeful. Carbs are not the enemy I thought. There is so much information out there, one can get really confused. I never thought I had a chemical imbalance and am still not completely convinced but more will be revealed. Anyway, thanks for the warm welcome to those of you who have replied to my questions and everyone else!
