I would have some brown and protein first. What about making a burrito with some eggs, cheese, etc wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla, then eating half before working out, and half after? Or something along those lines.

Also, there are protein powders that don't have soy. George's Restore is one, or you can get whey protein or brown rice protein at a health food store. You could have a shake before, and some solid food afterwards.

I experiment with things and see what works best for me. I'm doing that now because I'm working out after work, which makes dinner late, and I'm trying different things to see what keeps blood sugar crashes at bay.
