My husband isn't sugar-sensitive. He's VERY not sugar sensitive, in fact. As is my daughter.
My husband, because he's the path-of-least-resistance guy when it comes to food, years ago asked me to just double my shake-making in the morning so he could have an easy breakfast. So I did. And every morning he grabs his shake bottle and a slice of whole wheat bread and heads on out to work.
And I'd stopped buying sodas for years, and because I wasn't buying his soda, he'd drink sodas from a machine at work. And then he just gradually stopped doing that. The regular soda he just stopped, but interestingly, the only thing he noticed a problem with stopping was diet soda. This was the most fascinating part of watching him. He's never been depressed a day in his life until he stopped drinking diet Coke one day. I suggested he do a taper, which he did with great success. It said it made him get the kind of experience I have with my own body.
Well, quite interestingly, he has noticed that over about the past 4 years, he just pretty much doesn't get sick anymore. I mean, he used to be flattened by the flu or a massive head cold once a year, sometimes more (he's a high school teacher and would pick up whatever was going around). But now if he gets sick it's a few days of not feeling that well, but he's functional, but the incidence and severity have without a doubt been reduced.
Absolutely fascinating.
As for my daughter, I could go on and on about how little sugar she ingests, and that has nothing to do with me. She STILL has Halloween candy leftover, a whole huge bag of it. I will wind up throwing it out here over the summer, and she won't even notice. She eats really healthy, and I think that's partly because I only buy pretty healthy stuff with a minimum of anything junk-y (and again, I often have to throw that stuff out) and partly because she says it just tastes better.
YES. This program definitely helps non-sugar-sensitives. Absolutely!
