First I'd like to say that I'm happy to be here & thanks for listening to my share!! I started step one right after I read PNP about 9 months ago. As I learned from the book and the online "Radiant Recovery" community I made sure to take my time with each step, did not progress to the next until I was comfortable with the one before and have enjoyed the journey along the way. My problem is that once I get to detox, after about 8-10 days of being off all sugar (overt & covert-even fruit), I find that the cravings are still persisting strongly & and I "relapse", as if I'm on autopilot and head straight to the cookie jar again!!
I'm puzzled & don't know what I'm doing wrong.....I eat my breakfast within an hour of waking, with enough protein and brown & green, the same for lunch & dinner, have my potato 3 hours after my dinner & I'm journaling. Perhaps it's normal to still have these cravings a week, two/three weeks or more after detox? Do I just need to be "stronger" and find something more pleasurable to do when I'm tempted?
