Re: coffee
In Response To: Re: coffee ()

I was drinking a lot of coffee when I started the program. After I had been on step 6 for 6 months, and was steady, I tackled the caffeine problem. I gradually added some decaf into every cup of coffee I drank, using a little more decaf each week, until I was only having decaf. It was painless - no withdrawal headaches, crabbiness etc. Being really steady with my food helped.

: Hi Ann,

: I am a beginner too. I drank a
: enormous amount off coffee while
: at school, and continued to do so
: even when I was quick sick. I
: agree that the more I eat, the
: less I want it. Sometimes the
: smell will make me sick! I don't
: use sugar or milk (never have),
: but I think back to my healthiest
: days and it was the food that
: fueled me.

: I wish I had come to this conclusion
: sooner, but coffee is a hard habit
: to break. I've gone cold turkey
: with it before and suffered, so
: that option it out for me. One
: day, hopefully, I'll kick it to
: the curb. I'm glad that you're
: drinking less, as I'm hoping for
: the same thing.

: Good luck fellow coffee lover!
