Sarit, this is just what I was talking about in my post about the plant. Good job looking at your food, making adjustments and keeping at it.

: Hi Siobhan,
: I also went into many of the steps
: full charge ahead.
: I had always been a breakfast person,
: enjoyed browns, had gone off sugar
: a few days before finding RR, etc,
: etc. I've been on the program for
: 9 months.
: What I have learned is that I was
: trying to grasp at too many things
: at once. Recently, I made a switch
: to focusing on breakfast. I still
: do the steps I was doing before,
: but am zeroing in on Step 1. The
: timing is what I need to work on
: most - within the hour. There is a
: definite improvement, and I'm
: still working on it
: This doesn't mean I stopped doing the
: steps I was doing before. For me,
: keeping those steps steady helps
: get my breakfast timing steadier.
: That was an interesting discovery
: for me
: That said, this past Saturday evening
: and Sunday evening, I had my first
: all-out chocolate binge since I
: started RR. What was amazing was
: that I was able to observe it as
: an impartial observer and not
: judge myself for it. I witnessed
: and made connections.
: I realized that my food had been off.
: Because of a very hectic schedule
: in the past few weeks, I had not
: been steady in cooking enough
: proteins & browns to have
: available. As a result, I had
: substituted other foods (for
: example, tuna instead of chicken,
: rye toast instead of brown rice).
: But my body needs more substantial
: cooked proteins and grains,
: especially when under stress for a
: long time. When it didn't get a
: steady supply, and the stress
: level continued to rise, the
: result was that addiction took
: over in the form of a chocolate
: binge.
: I truly thought chocolate binges were
: behind me, but this was a very
: important lesson. I learned just
: how much my particular body needs
: solid support food-wise when under
: duress. Instead of watching TV or
: surfing the net to get some relief
: from the stresses of life, I must
: go to the kitchen to COOK MY FOOD.
: That is what will help me weather
: the pressure.
: So these past two days I created
: "windows of time" for
: cooking. As I cooked, I listened
: to music on my mp. Cooked food for
: my body, and listened to music for
: my soul.
: That's how it goes. We learn from
: everything that happens, and move
: forward from there.
: Now I am dealing with a 3-day
: migraine that has resulted from
: the chocolate binge. And tomorrow
: is Day 4
: Still, I feel I have come out a
: winner, because I observed the
: binge, learned the lesson, and
: went on to do the food
:
: So it's never a failure to go back
: and re-group, re-investigate, and
: re-direct.
: If you re-lax about the process, it
: can lead to re-ward and a new
: sense of self re-spect, LOL
:
: Cheering you on,
: Sarit
