Hi, And welcome! wonderful that you found us.
Let me respond right in your note
Hi, I am new to this specific
: program. However, at my
: naturopathic physician's
: recommendation, I have been on a
: food plan for the past 6 months
: that very closely resembles a
: combination of Steps 1 thru 6 but
: without the potato;
Ok, so the food plan your doc recommended is NOT anything like what we do. We would never, ever suggest you do it all at once, LOL, that puts your body into shock and reinforces vulnerability to addiction.
and, the food
: journal was just a list of foods I
: ate. And the food plan also
: included the elimination of wheat
: and sugar from the start because
: those are trigger foods for me
: that result in cravings/binges.
Well, I would simply respectfully agree to disagree with the approach.
If you are sugar sensitive, there is a lot more to healing than just the food.
I
: got off track a bit during the
: holidays and had sugar, but no
: sugar since then and I still have
: mood swings, headaches, and
: overall feel depressed and
: fatigued. I've been in therapy for
: the past year for the depression.
: I don't want to take
: anti-depressants again, and in my
: search for other options I just
: discovered and read the book,
: "Potatoes, Not Prozac,"
: and see that I definitely fit the
: profile for sugar sensitivity. I
: want to feel better, and
: considering the food plan I've
: been on for the past 6 months I
: wonder how to best begin this
: program? Should I add the potato
: now? Or start with Step 1?
Come to step one with a beginner's mind. Just focus on that. Join the step one list. Embrace it, and learn the process embedded in the steps.
I have
: given up trying to figure out how
: to feel better on my own,
that is the most exciting part!!!!!
Warmly,
kathleen
and
: would appreciate any guidance you
: can offer. Thank you! -Ann
