Re: Can't just have a little sugar

: Hi Jeffrey,

I will respond in your text.

: What you are saying here is very much
: in line with Step one in all the
: 12 Step programs.

:h11) yes, this is true...

I guess I never
: progressed beyond the first half
: of step 1 - the powerless part. As
: long as I thought my life was
: manageable, I have tried to do it
: on my own. Three decades stuck at
: this point drove me to RR.

What a joy that you found us!!! :h5)

: So yes, I could say I need help. It
: has been hell just hanging out on
: a weak branch all by myself.

we are thrilled that you are here. and are willing. :h3)

: Have been faithfully following all
: four parts of Step 1 and getting
: better with journaling in Step 2.
: Other than that, I haven't a clue.

so the key is very simple. You stop thinking about sugar or bingeing any of that stuff.
you think about the quality of your breakfast, and the joy of your journal. let go of your fear about bingeing. If you do, you do...the world won't end. As you do the steps, you won't binge anymore.

Right now the fear is controlling you. And what I want for you is that you shift into the joy part of your brain. That will guide you and inform your recovery in a different way.

You have started already because of your willingness :h6)
