If you're just starting, focusing on breakfast is really all you need to think about for now. You can continue to have snacks, and that will be something to concentrate on when you do step 3. Also, if you are very active, you may need to add in planned snacks!
For breakfast, there are 4 parts....getting enough protein, eating a complex carb, eating within the hour, and eating every day. How is breakfast going for you? Have you found something you really like? We love to talk about breakfast around here!
