Re: Eye opening - A call from the vet triggers a trip tot the vending machine

Joy dot: clouds low over the Manzano and Sandia Mountains, pastel shades of yellow and blue, to watch on the drive to work (I was not the driver)

After I first stopped eating sugar, I found that going for a brisk walk would help if I got stressed. I would take a short break and walk around the block. If I couldn't do that, I'd listen to my favorite music. These days, I often just get up and take a walk around the office, or talk to someone for a few minutes. And I still use outdoor walks when I can.

: After a solid on time breakfast I
: have felt amazing all morning.
: Focused and heads down working.
: Then at 11:30 AM I get a call from
: my vet with not such good news -
: not totally bad but not news I was
: expecting. More meds for my older
: dog (has a bladder infection that
: will not clear up) and more money
: out of my pocket - He has become
: my million dollar dog I swear.
: Immediately after the call I
: headed to the vending machine to
: get chips. I did not feel too
: stressed out over the conversation
: but deep down inside it must have
: really bothered me. It was really
: eye opening for me.

: How could I have handled this in a
: more healthy way instead of
: turning to comfort food?
