: Hi Dodi,
: That's really interesting about 10
: minutes between thyroid med. and
: BF being enough.
: I've heard there is a debate amongst
: doctors whether 1/2 hour is
: enough, or if we should really 3/4
: hour.
: So 10 min. is news to me!
: I'll check it out.
: Thanks,
: Sarit
I once had a very interesting conversation with my Vet about this thyroid
issue. I asked her why there was such conflicting information for people about when to take
it and the dog docs never speak about that.
She said, the key is to maintain a steady dose. Same time, same variables. Because what you
want is to maintain a steady amount in the blood stream. Most human docs say a time on an empty stomach
and an earlier time allows it to dissolve and get into your blood before eating. But if you have it at 10 min before, and you have it at that same time every day, then that is what you body gets used to.
Once you have been taking it for a while, then you have built up a reserve and you are simply refilling the tank.
I think the key is to minimize the variables. Same amount, same time, and same relation to eating, whatever that may be. And for ss people, eating earlier is important. So ask your doctor and see if you can get a schedule that works with your program.
