Hi Jeffrey, welcome!
I think that if we "look" hard enough we can find so many things that support our belief system. I've been taught and continue to be about the food combining issue as well and though it's a great concept, it's something I've tried many times over, mostly before finding RR and it's never worked for my body. I simply am not satisfied eating that way and we all have to find our own path to healing/recovery.
I've been down many roads of "doing what the experts say" and eventually end up returning here because eating the way Kathleen suggests simply works for me and I love how I feel when I eat her way. I don't believe there is a food plan that is a "one size fits all" out there. You must have been drawn to this program for one reason or another as we all were.
When I read SARP (sugar addicts total recovery program) I felt like I had come home. Someone actually figured out what I'd been feeling/experiencing all my life and I'm very grateful. I waited 10 long years to finally realize this was where I need to be and stay, regardless of what others say, do or think. It's a great place to be and I'm glad you are asking your questions and will receive the answers you are looking for.
Best to you,
Terri F
