Bananas?

I've seen a number of references in testimonials and elsewhere to eating bananas as a positive, even though people don't like them. I like bananas, at least in moderation, and would eat them more often by choice and for the potassium--which is REALLY hard to get synthetically--but I have tended to limit them in the last several years because of what I thought was a high glycemic index. (Why this doesn't work with me and ice cream, I couldn't quite tell you. :}) Can anybody give me the scoop on bananas in the Potatoes Not Prozac world? Thanks!
