Hello!
For quite some time now, even when not doing RR, I experience hunger right before bed and I'm not on step 4 (currently doing step 2) yet where the potato is added. I've done the program a couple of times getting through all the steps twice. The other times I've stopped at about step 2 or 3. What I've done in the past also is eat an egg before bed as I get super restless legs with just a potato. Lately the egg does not hold me through the night so have added a rice cake with it and it tends to hold me through the night without me waking at 3 or 4 in the morning having blood sugar crashes/hunger.
I instinctively eat the way the program is outlined because my body just loves that way of eating. I AM doing the steps in order and slowly as advised. I'm eating protein and carb at every meal because that's what feels right and have done it for so long even though I restarted steps 8 weeks ago. Am I wrong to eat the little carb/protein snack before bed if it holds me all night or would I be better off eating extra protein? I have tried that in the past as well and the best combo is carb/protein. I choose the rice cake as it doesn't seem too heavy to digest all night even though I take a digestive enzyme with every meal.
I just wonder why at night I can only go about 3 to 4 hours after a meal before I'm hungry and yet during the day can make it through 4 to 5 hours between meals? I eat same amount because I know how much I need per meal and don't quite understand why I can't go as long after evening meal. Any ideas/suggestions?
