Re: Need Support

: Hi Angela,
: I can definitely relate to your
: story. During my slow start on the
: program, I would ask my husband to
: support me in it, but he was so
: skeptical. He had seen me break my
: promises so many other times in
: the past (on things that I said
: would "fix" me and
: "make me happy"), he
: just said "I'll know you're
: serious when I see you do
: it". Well, that hurt. But in
: a way I knew it was true. I had to
: stop talking about it and just do
: it. But that doesn't mean go all
: the way, right away. You can only
: take one step at a time. And even
: within those steps, take one
: nano-step at a time.
: And I also had to realize that a
: non-SS person will just never
: understand what addiction means.
: They can't seem to fathom that
: it's not about will power, it's
: not as easy as waking up one day
: and deciding you're just going to
: say "no" to the
: substance.
: I hope that you can find your easiest
: nano-step to start working on, and
: just let that be enough for now.
: We can help you trouble-shoot your
: road blocks, or you might find one
: of the Step lists helpful. I also
: hope that you and your husband can
: come to an understanding about
: what healing means. My husband
: still does not accept all the
: theories behind what I'm doing or
: even how slowly I'm going, but
: he's noticed differences in me so
: he's starting to have faith and to
: trust that I know what I'm doing.
: It took a while for me, but I
: finally trust what I'm doing, too.
: :h6)

Dodi,

I think his saying, I will believe it when it happens, is actually very appropriate :h11)
it is we who are sugar sensitives that say, WHAT!!! you don't trust me!!!!!!!!!!! :s4( :s2(

It is sort of funny, isn't it..since the evidence from prior experience suggests a high not working rate :h4)

The nice thing is that the program works, and the evidence is so unrefutable, they all come around. :h2)
